6th Grade Social Studies Textbook

This year we only have one class set of textbooks for the entire 6th grade class. If your son or daughter has homework they can check out a textbook at the school library for overnight use, or logon to their school Google account and use the online textbook.

In order to access your school Google account go to google.com and in the upper right hand corner logon to Google Apps.

Your login screen name will be your first two initials followed by your lunch number and then @student.oregonk-12.com

Example: bd00001@student.oregonk-12.com

Your password will be the password you choose at the beginning of the school year, hopefully you wrote it down in your agenda.

Once you are logged in, click on Google Apps and scroll down to the bottom of the page.  Your textbook will be a red icon that reads McGraw Hill Education.

School Picture Day (September 12th)

FRMS  students will have their school pictures taken on Thursday, September
12th. Information on how to purchase pictures went home during registration and
can also be picked up in the front office.

Students must either bring their order forms with the exact amount in cash or
check that day or pay online. Please make sure that the pose and package
selected are marked on the order form. Fall pictures are also used for our
yearbook. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.

Families can also order online at mylifetouch.com

Native American PowerPoint (You Become the Teacher)

Students will draw a random Native American tribe from a hat and then extensively research the tribe they picked. The final project will be a PowerPoint and should feature the following information:

  • The tribes lifestyle/culture (hunter gatherer or agriculture)
  • Where the tribe lived (region)
  • Facts, such as; what kind of food they ate/hunted, what kind of homes they live in, language spoken, clothing, weapons, rituals and ceremonies.

This is a PowerPoint and it should contain pictures as well as written words. When all is said and done, you will present the PowerPoint and teach the class what you’ve learned.

Below is a link containing websites that should help you find facts and information about your given tribe.

Have fun, learn lots, and help us learn about your tribe through your poster.
