This is a $250 scholarship, RENEWABLE over 4 years, totaling $1000! This scholarship is sponsored by the Elmira Booster Club, in memory of Bryan Bellingham, who was a graduate of Elmira High School, in the Class of 2004.
In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
1.) Emphasis will be placed on the student athlete who has overcome obstacles in their life. You may not be the top star or student, but tried hard in both even though your path in life got difficult at times.
2.) You must have participated in athletics at Elmira High School for 4 years, or 2 years if you are a transfer student.
3.) You must have a GPA of 2.5 or better.
Please write an essay (1000 words or less) describing what it have meant to you to participate in athletics at Elmira High School. Describe any obstacles you have encountered in athletics, academics or life in general, that you have fought to overcome, and helped made you a successful student athlete (See #1 above). Please include what sports you have participated in and any awards or honors that yu have received (i.e., All State, All league, Most Valuable, Most Improved). Also, describe any other school activities, work experience, community service experience that you have participated in.
