Reminder that there WILL be school held this Friday, January 27th, and there WILL NOT be school next Friday, February 3rd.  This is a result of the District pushing back the end of the 1st semester one week due to our 7 missed snow/ice days.  Please help spread the word.

Seniors – It is time to order your cap, gown and graduation announcements.  Miners graduate services will be on campus this Thursday and Friday 10/15 & 10/16 during lunch in the cafeteria to take orders.  Don’t forget to bring your order forms and deposit money.  Miners will also be taking orders for Class rings and Letterman jackets.  Ordering information is available in the front office.

Our Annual EHS Junior Night event is coming up on Thursday, May 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the EHS theater. This is an event for both parent and student. We will cover a wide range of important information for Juniors as they plan for graduation and life after high school! Parents are strongly encouraged to join to gain greater insight into what role you can take and know how best to support your student for their next steps. The agenda will include a presentation on navigating post-secondary options and planning for college hosted by Mrs. Haas, EHS School Counselor, followed by some general senior year information shared by Mr. Carpenter. We hope you can make it and get a head start on senior year for the graduating class of 2016!

What: Community Forum on Drug Testing of H.S. athletes at EHS
Where: EHS Theater
When: Tuesday, May 12th from 7-8 PM.

Earlier this school year a group of parents asked the EHS administration to collect some data and look into the possibility of creating and implementing a policy around drug testing at EHS. As such, on Tuesday, May 12th we will be holding a Community Forum at the above date and time. As we get closer, a more detailed agenda and outline of the hour will be released. If this is a topic that interests you, regardless of which side of the discussion you fall, please plan on attending and being a part of the dialogue. Go Falcons!

Teachers are currently updating grades, and our 3rd and final progress reports will be mailed home on Monday afternoon, December 15th.  Final exams will be given on January 21st and 22nd and grades will be issued soon after that.  Also, a reminder that the last day of school before the holiday break is next Thursday, December 18th.  Students return to school on Monday, January 5th.

Next Wednesday, November 12th, the FRSD is holding a “District-Wide Sustainability Workshop – How Green Do We Want To Be?”  from 6:30 – 7:30 pm at the District Office Board Room.  The focus of the workshop will be to both give information as well as receive input from the community on this topic.  If this is a topic that interests you, please attend.

early.relaseIn 2014-15 EHS will be on an Early Release Wednesday schedule.  Each Wednesday students will be released at 1:18, much like the Middle School schedule at FRMS.  There will be a study hall available in a computer lab for athletes that want to stay on campus until practice begins and do school work.  The study hall will go from 1:30-3:20. This early release schedule will allow staff some critical staff development time throughout the year.  We are excited about the way this opportunity will help staff, students and parents alike in regards to improving instruction, allowing for a wide range of staff development activities and improving outcomes and experiences for students.
