Homework

General Homework Guidelines:

  • Homework is scaled way back this year to allow for more reading and family time!  Usually, weekly homework consists of just one page that reviews math concepts and either language arts, social studies or science skills.
  • Homework goes home Monday (or the first day of the week) in the left pocket of the purple folder.  It is due Thursday of the same week  (or Friday if the week starts on a Tuesday).
  • Old tests/quizzes and school notices will be in the right pocket, and should be removed before students bring back their empty folders the next day.
  • Homework that is signed by a parent or guardian (signifying it has been checked) provides an extra $5 for students in their classroom checkbook.  Parents are encouraged to look over completed homework, and help when necessary (but not too much help!).
  • In addition to the homework page, students should be reading 210 minutes per week (30 minutes per night).  Students get a free book of their choice for every 1,000 RAH minutes recorded.  Minutes should be documented and signed by a parent/guardian.
