Junior Student and Parent Night is tonight at 6pm in the EHS Theater. It’s very important that all Juniors and parents attend. Financial Aid has moved the submission date of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid up to October 1st! In order to be ready for the change you will need to prepare over summer and helpful information on this and other items will be shared at this event to help get you started. Please see Mrs. Haas with questions.

This week is teacher appreciation week.  Thanks to all of the teachers at Elmira who go above and beyond to help students succeed.  We will be recognizing them throughout the week here at EHS.  Go Falcons!

Early this morning, Elmira H.S., the Elmira Community and the family of Kyle Smith, received tragic news that he had passed away. Kyle was a graduate of EHS in 2012. He was an outstanding kid, an outstanding athlete and was growing into an outstanding, young man. Kyle attended Portland State University where he played football and was majoring in business. This devastating news has been hard on staff and students and will be for some time to come. This type of news affects people differently. Parents should be prepared to discuss this with their students tonight and offer support as needed. The school has a room today, staffed with counselors and staff members, to assist with these difficult emotions and feelings. We ask that you please keep the Smith family in your thoughts as they grieve this unimaginable loss of a son, brother, nephew, uncle and grandson, as well as a friend to many.

Prom!! This Saturday night, 8:00-11:30 at Emerald Valley Resort in Creswell. The last day to purchase tickets is Friday the 15th, $20.00, or $35.00 for a couple. This should be a fun and memorable, yet safe night for our students. We are holding a school-wide prom safety assembly on Friday morning to remind students about the dangers of drinking and driving, getting into a car with anyone that shouldn’t be driving, wearing seatbelts and distracted driving. Hope to see many of our students there. Reminder that students must be in school on Friday in order to attend the prom! Go Falcons!
