Scholarships

Hi All,

This website has been moved to Schoology, in the form of a group titled, “EHS Class of 2022 College and Vocational Scholarship List” for the 2021-2022 school year.  All Senior students have had access to this Schoology group since early Fall. Parents/Guardians can have access by following these steps:

 

Here is the link to the Schoology Parent Sign-up website: https://support.schoology.com/hc/en-us/articles/201000823-Sign-Up-as-a-Parent. Here is a break down of the sign-up steps below:

1.) Go to www.schoology.com.
2.) Click Sign Up at the top of the page and choose Parent.
3.) Enter your Parent Access Code. This is a 12-digit code in xxxx-xxxx-xxxx format that you receive from one of your child’s instructors. If you have not received this access code please ask Mandy Storey or Rick Gardner for your access code.
4.) Fill out the form with your information.
5.) Click Register to complete.

West Lane Veneta Dairy Queen is offering scholarships to graduating seniors from
Crow, Elmira, Triangle Lake, and West Lane Tech schools who are entering college or a
trade school program in the fall of 2021. The awarded amount per selected student is
$250, and will be paid directly to the applicant’s enrolled school.

Winning applicants must provide an acceptance letter for their college, university, or
trade school indicating their enrollment for the fall 2021 term, or registration letter.

Scholarships will be selected based on a written essay, GPA/transcripts, Applicant Data
Sheet, and may be followed up by an interview. The written essay should be between
500-750 words and can be from any of the three prompts:
1. What does community mean to you?
2. What has living during a pandemic over the last year taught you?
3. Who has been an inspirational figure to you and why?

Completed Applications include:
o Applicant Data Sheet (see page 2)
o Written Essay on one of three topics listed above
o Official High School Transcripts
o A copy of school/ program acceptance letter for Fall of 2021, or proof of
registration, or list of school/programs the applicant is waiting to hear back from.

The due date for applications is May 21st.
Completed applications can be submitted to your school’s counselor, Brittany McMillan,
either by email or physical copies. Confirmation that your counselor has received your
completed application by the due dates is the responsibility of each student.

Rose City Kappa Foundation Scholarship: The Portland Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and Rose City Kappa
Foundation, offer three $500 scholarships to deserving young men graduating from an
Oregon high school, preferably from historically disadvantaged groups, and/or having a
financial need. Applicants must plan to pursue higher education at a 2 or four-year institution
leading to a degree. Applicants must have an overall grade point average of 3.00 or above.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
1. An unofficial transcript that shows proof of attendance, and a GPA of 3.0 and higher.
2. A document verifying acceptance into a 2 or 4-year institution of higher education.
3. A completed application (see below).

APPLICATION DEADLINE: NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, MAY 2, 2021.
SUBMISSIONS AFTER THAT DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

The Oregon Logging Conference Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 college year.  Guidelines, details and
application can be found HERE

Deadline: May 15th, 2021

Applicant Criteria:
• Must be studying in Forest Engineering, Forest Management, Forest
Operations Management, Resource Management, Diesel Mechanics / Heavy
Equipment Maintenance, Welding and other forest /timber industry related
areas of study.
• Scholarship application must be completed in ink or typed. No applications
completed in pencil will be accepted.
• Applicant must provide previous school year’s academic grades.
• Applicant must provide at least one letter of work reference and one letter
of personal reference. No limit to number of references you can provide.
• Previous year’s recipients are eligible to re-apply. Must complete new
application.
• The scholarship application must be completed in full.
• All applications must be returned to and postmarked by May 15th to be
considered for the OLC Foundation scholarship award. Mail application to:

2020-2021 Eugene Masonic Lodge No. 11 Scholarship Guidelines

**If awarded, this scholarship can be applied towards public institutions or certified trade or apprenticeship programs**

Amount: $3000

  • Applicants should have a 3.0 or better GPA
  • Applicants must be a good student, prompt with assigned tasks and show good promise of completing at least two years of a specific educational program.
  • UPDATED DUE DATE! Applications MUST BE IN to the EHS Counselor by April 15, 2021.
  • 3 EHS Students will move on to final selections!
  • Applicants MUST complete the Scholarship Application Form.

elmira-falcon-imageThis is a $250 scholarship, RENEWABLE over 4 years, totaling $1000! This scholarship is sponsored by the Elmira Booster Club.

In order to qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

1.) You must have participated in athletics at Elmira High School for 4 years, or 2 years if you are a transfer student.

2.) You must have a GPA of 2.5 or better

3.) Emphasis will be placed on the student athlete who has made volunteering at their school or in their community an integral part of their high school experience.

Please write an essay (1000 words or less) describing what it has meant to you to participate in athletics at Elmira High School. Please include what sports you have participated in and any awards or honors that you have received (i.e., All State, All League, Most Valuable, Most Improved). Describe any other school activities, work experience or community service experience that you have participated in (i.e. Booster Club events, Key Club, Leadership, or Tolerance and Diversity. Please see #3 above.

The recipient must notify the Booster Club by April 15th of each year, if they choose to renew their scholarship for the following year. Minimal requirements, established by the Booster Club, must be met.

 

Return to Elmira High School Counselor, no later than May 7th, 2021.

Purpose: The L.D. and Velna Montgomery Scholarship fund was established in 2021 by Kerry Montgomery, EHS Graduating Class of ‘67 . It enables college bound seniors attending Elmira High School to pursue a college education at any 4-year, accredited Educational Institution.

Description:

Scholarship is for tuition, books, room and board only. Scholarship Amount: $5,000 per year, for a maximum of 4 years. Please complete the application in its entirety. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered for the scholarship award. The deadline for this application to be received is: Postmarked Tuesday, May 4th, 2021 by 3pm. No exceptions. Submit completed application to EHS Counselor, Brittany McMillan.

Eligibility:

In order to be considered for L.D. and Velna Montgomery Scholarship, a candidate must:

  • Be an Elmira High School Senior
  • Be planning to pursue an undergraduate degree at a 4-year accredited educational institution beginning Summer or Fall 2021
  • Must have a cumulative High School GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Demonstrate financial need
    • Please submit a copy of your Student Aid Report from the FAFSA OR complete the Financial Resource table on the following page.

 

Renewal Eligibility:

  • The L.D. and Velna Montgomery Scholarship is renewable (up to 4 years) IF college GPA remains in “Good Standing” based on the Colleges’/Universities’ criteria.

The PB&J Scholarship Fund is for students who have experience personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed. Examples of personal challenges include, but not limited to: medical issues, peer issues (bullying, change of school, minority status, etc), family issues (divorce, dealth, lack of income, homelessness, foster care, etc).

Awards offered range from $500-$1,000. Student must fill out the online application, submit a transcript and one letter of recommendation (two is preferred).
