April and early May are busy at Fern Ridge Middle School.  The 6th and 7th Graders are going on their field trips and we are starting state testing next week.  Next Monday, we also have a parent group and promotion planning at 6 pm.  At the meeting one of the agenda items will be to talk about an up coming fundraiser that we need help with soon. We have a great opportunity to raise money for the upcoming field trips by providing lunch for the BlachlyLane Electric Cooperative annual meeting.  The lunch is for 300 people on April 23rd. There are lots of ways you can help.  We are looking for donations, cooks, servers, and cleaners.  If you can help with any or all of the areas, please contact Mr. Barsotti.

Food Donations we are looking for:

  1. Chicken Breasts
  2. Salad
  3. Mash potatoes and gravy
  4. Baked Beans
  5. Coffee
  6. Juice
  7. Milk

8th Grade Parents,

Here is the 8th Grade Flyer that was sent home two weeks ago.  The flyer is asking parents if they would like to join in on the promotion planning process.  Also, the parents that have started promotion planning thought it would be a fun idea to buy t-shirts similar to last years 8th grade class.  To pay for the t-shirts and other promotion activities, we are asking for 8th grade families to donate $10 to help with all of the costs.

Thanks, Peter Barsotti

Box Tops

The middle school has started collecting Box Top$ For Education here in the office. Please send them with your student.  They can turn them in to the office. Below are a few questions you may have in regards to the program.

  • How much money can my school earn with Box Tops for Education?

Each eligible school may earn up to $20,000 cash per year beginning on March 2 of every year from the Clip program. There are no maximum annual earning limits for schools earning eBoxTops or Bonus Box Tops.

  • What can my school do with the money it earns from Box Tops for Education?

Your school can use the money for anything it needs! Computers, books, and playground equipment are just some of the ways schools have chosen to use the funds raised through Box Tops for Education.

Please visit their website at: http://www.boxtops4education.com to learn about the program and/or print coupons.

calendar-change

Fern Ridge Middle School’s talent show and auction has changed dates.  Mark you calendars, it is now Thursday January 28th.  The talent show and auction is one of only a few fundraisers that the middle school does each year.  We use the money to fund our field trips.  Our field trips include all 6th graders going to HJ Andrews Experimental Forest, all 7th graders are going to Ashland to see a Shakespeare play, and the 8th graders build and race cardboard boats at the Veneta Pool.  If you or your business would like to make a donation, we would love it.  Please contact Martha Pryor at the middle school.  Here is a copy of our donation letter.
