FRMS Staff would like to share this weeks FRMS NEWS Quarantine Edition:
Just a reminder to all of our students and families that our amazing FRMS teachers are available by phone if you need any help at all working through your distance learning packets. Teachers are available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM and they would love to hear from students and families.
Please feel free to call/email Ms.Hohnstein for help with 6th grade Language Arts, Ms. Bennet for 7th grade Language Arts, and Ms. Larson for 8th grade Language Arts. For Math help, contact Ms. Pizzola for 6th grade, Mr. Light for 7th grade, and Mr. Humphrey for 8th grade. For Science Help, contact Ms. Davis for 6th and 7th grade Science and Mr. Stoe for 8th grade Science. For Social Studies, contact Mr. Davis for 6th grade, Mr. Wondra for 7th grade, and Ms. French for 8th grade. If you have Brummett, Pryor, or Gardner for Language Arts or Math they are available to help as well.
Teachers can be reached at the email addresses or phone numbers listed below:
April 22nd is Secretary Appreciation Day and we want to take a moment to thank our two amazing school secretaries, Tammy Eutsler and Casey Anderson. They are truly the backbone of our school and have gone above and beyond to help during this current crisis.
Thank you Tammy and Casey. We really couldn’t do it without you.
As we begin to plan to add to our distance learning efforts, we need to verify that middle school students know their Google account ID and password. This is the same information they use at school to log into chromebooks or into the computer lab. Their Google ID would be their initials and their lunch number followed by @student.oregonk-12.com
For example for John Smith whose lunch number is 12345, their Google ID would be js12345@student.oregonk-12.com
If students can’t remember their password, have them look in their planners to see if they wrote it down somewhere.
If they still don’t have their password, please contact Tammy at the middle school office 541-935-8230.
Below are the links to this week’s Distance Learning materials. If your child has Mr. Brummet, Ms. Pryor, or Mrs. Gardner for Language Arts or Math, those teachers are distributing their packets separately. You should have received a phone call or email from them to set up how you are going to get your packets. If you haven’t, please call them directly or contact the office.
Beginning next week, you are welcome to drop off completed packets when you pick up new packets on Mondays. FRMS staff will be at the student drop off to take completed packets and give you new packets. If your child isn’t done with their packet on Monday, no problem it can be turned in the following week. If you want to hold onto the packets and bring in a few weeks at once, that works too. We will also have the boxes in front of the school to turn in packets Tuesday thru Friday during our office hours 8 AM to 3:30 PM. It really helps us if families can make sure that names are on each page of student work and the packets are stapled or paper clipped together.
Please feel free to keep the red folders from the first week as a place to keep the packets in as your student works through them.
Don’r forget as well that teachers are available Monday thru Friday to help you or your child work through the packets or answer any questions you might have. We are not including answer keys, so please take advantage of teacher’s availability and call them if you get stuck. To make things easier for families, we have included the link to the teacher contact in this post. Student guides are included that explain what is expected of your child in each subject area.
Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions. Printed packets can be picked up on Monday at the drop off site- please stay in your car. They will also be available on Tuesday in tubs in front of the school if you can’t make it to the school on Monday. Math, Language Arts, and P.E. are included as part of our Distance Learning materials. Science and Social studies are part of our supplemental materials.
The office is open from 8 AM to 3:30 PM if you have any questions.

To accommodate our working families, FRMS will open from 6 PM to 7 Pm on Wednesday, April 15th for students/families needing to clean out their lockers. We will still be practicing social distancing and limiting the number of families in the building at one time. Families waiting to get into the building should also practice social distancing. Thank you.
FRMS Students can clean out their regular lockers and their gym lockers Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between now and May 1st. Please come through the office. Due to social distancing, we will be limiting the number of families/students who can be in the building at one time, so there may be a little bit of a wait.
With staff focused on packet production and distribution on Fridays and Mondays, the building itself will not be open to families on those days.
Lockers need to be cleaned out by May 1st. Thank you.
FRMS is excited to offer distance learning packets beginning April 13th. Each grade level has a distance learning packet that includes language arts, math, fitness activities, and wellness strategies.
In addition to the main distance learning packets for Math and Language Arts, we have also created supplemental packets with activities for Social Studies and Science. For our band students, Mr. Siegal has put together a practice schedule and routine for them to continue to improve their skills.
No other exploratory or elective classes will be included in our distance learning model aside from Band.
The packets are lengthy, but they include materials that would normally be in textbooks like stories, sample problems, etc. Each subject also includes a student study guide that walks students through what they need to do each day. Math and Language Arts is where the new instruction is so those subjects should be the priority.
Instead of providing answer sheets, we encourage families to contact teachers directly if they have any questions or concerns. Beginning April 13th, teachers are available by phone Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. They are also available by email. Below is a link to teacher emails and phone numbers for you.
Please hold onto completed work ( you don’t need to hold on to the stories or articles just the pages with student work). Students will be asked to return completed work to school. Look for details soon on what that will look like.
If your child has Mr. Brummet, Ms. Pryor, or Mrs. Gardner for Language Arts or Math, those teachers are distributing their packets separately. You should have received a phone call or email from them to set up how you are going to get your packets. If you haven’t, please call them directly or contact the office.
Please don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any questions. If you have specific content questions contact teachers.
