Remember Simon, the electronic game that became a pop culture phenom in the 80’s? It returned in a big way to FRMS over the last two weeks.
Our First Annual FRMS SImon Tournament saw a dedicated group of FRMS students battling it out in an intense competition to see who would be crowned the first ever FRMS Simon Champion. Over 18 students made it through a tough week of preliminary competition before moving into bracket play this week. In bracket play, the students played a head to head competition where each match consisted of three games. The student who won two out of the three games won the match and moved on to the next round.
After three intense days of bracket play competition, we had a final four consisting of Lyla Rinehart, Miles Ingram, Ryley Neeley, and Casher Trout. The concentration and effort they put into their final four battles was amazing. Following two tough matches, Miles and Casher played for the school championship where Miles emerged as the winner. Miles won $20 in gift cards to Dairy Queen which he immediately, in an amazing act of sportsmanship, split up and shared equally with the other three final four competitiors.
It was a fun battle for all of the students who competed over the two weeks. We can’t wait for next year and gearing up for an even bigger and better SECOND Annual FRMS Simon Tournament.
