FRMS Staff will celebrate our 8th graders moving on to high school with a “drive thru” promotion celebration on Thursday, June 11th from 5 PM to 7 PM. Staff will line the bus lane to cheer for your 8th grader and then at the end of the bus lane a staff member will present them with their promotion certificate and any awards. Students and their families will stay in their cars. Staff will maintain social distancing.

To help minimize the traffic backing up onto Territorial, we ask that families come through at the following times:

5:00 to 5:30  Last names beginning with A to C

5:30 to 6:00 Last names beginning with D to H

6:00 to 6:30  Last names beginning with J to R

6:30 to 7:00 Last names beginning with S to Z

In addition to the Drive Thru Celebration, we will also be posting our traditional slide show honoring 8th grade students on our website the last week of school along with videos announcing our 8th grade student award winners. In addition to Outstanding Boy and Girl of the year, we will be giving subject awards including most improved in that subject, the FRMS Citizenship award to all students with no referrals or detentions while at FRMS, and  Academic Achievement awards to students whose cumulative GPA is 3.5 or above.

Families who are unable to join us Thursday evening can pick up their certificates at the district office on Friday the 12th or Monday the 15th.

To help reduce costs this year in anticipation of budget cuts next year, we are reducing office hours and teacher availability hours for the remainder of this school year. The FRMS office will be open from 8 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday. starting Tuesday, May 19th. FRMS Teachers will be available by phone or email to help students from 8 AM to 2:30 PM Mondays thru Fridays as well.

We are excited to let students know that we will be adding to our list of electives a semester long class where students can choose to learn either the ukulele or the guitar. Offered first or second semester, this class would be for both beginning and intermediate students.

If your student is interested in this class, have them list it as a choice on their forecasting form. Thanks

Custodians found lots of gym lockers (both  boys and girls) with stuff still in them. We have that stuff bagged and waiting. If your child did not clean out their gym locker or they are not sure if they did, call or stop by the office. Anything not claimed will end up being donated to charity.
