FRMS is holding a raffle to help raise money to pay for field trips for our middle school students. The raffle, along with a silent auction and a Staff vs Student Basketball game, is part of what we are calling our March Madness Fundraiser. Our goal is to raise at least $4,000 to help fund field trips. Currently, the school district does not pay for field trips for students.  Any field trips that our students go on is paid for by funds raised by school fundraisers like our March Madness fundraiser.

Beginning today and ending on March 9th, students should sell raffle tickets to family and family friends. All they need to do is to collect the money and put the names of the individuals and the number of tickets sold on the envelope.  Most families with students attended Veneta or Elmira should be familiar with this process. Parent volunteers will put names on tickets and put the tickets into a drawing. We have some nice prizes to give away, including $400 in gift cards from Winco Foods. Students can also earn prizes for selling tickets. For every $5 in tickets a student sells, they get their name in a drawing for prizes like passes to the City Pool. In addition, students can earn the following prizes:  

$10 in raffle sales                   Student will take part in our Take Ten where they will get to leave class ten minutes early for social time in the commons.

 

20 in raffle sales =                  Students will go back to their elementary roots with a 25 minute recess where they get to play games on the field or under the covered area.

 

$50 in raffle sales=                 Movie during the school day

 

$100 in raffle sales =               Pass to not have to do warm ups in one class for a week

         or

  FRMS T-Shirt

 

$200                                        Class Takeover- for 30 minutes the class of  the student’s choice gets to watch a movie, play games, or just hang out. Must be on a day approved by the classroom teacher.

 

 

Prizes for top sellers:

  1. Paintball Package valued at over $100
  2. $30 gift card to the Oregon Duck Store
  3. Two passes for OMSI

 

Most of all, by participating in our fundraiser families will be helping us raise funds to send our students on fun and informative field trips. In addition to the raffle ticket sales contest, we will be having a Silent Auction and Staff vs Students Basketball game on March 14th.  We will open the auction at 6:00 and  the game will start at 6:30. The cost for the game is $5 per an individual or $20 for a family of four or more.
