Beginning after Spring Break, FRMS will be offering a homework help/tutoring assistance after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10 to 5:00 in the school library. This is a great opportunity for students who need a quiet place and some assistance to complete their homework or need extra help in a class. Students must attend the entire time and parents are responsible for picking up their student at 5 PM. Students will have breaks and snacks will be provided.
There will be a limited number of slots for each session and available on a first come, first served basis. If you want your student to attend, either send a note to the office or call the office to sign up for an individual homework help session. Sessions are Tuesdays and Thursdays, so specify the day and date that your student will be attending. If you want your student to attend more than one session, please indicate that when you call or write.
We recognize that signing up by individual session isn’t the most convenient option, but it allows the group to have fluidity as we know there will be times when your student needs the help with their homework and times when they won’t. Thank you for your flexibiliy.
If a session is filled, you will be notified and your student will go home as normal. Because each session will have only one staff member supervising, we will need to cap each session at 15 students. Mrs. Lloyd will be the supervisor on Tuesdays and Mr. Newman will be the supervisor on Thursdays.
In addition to homework help and tutoring, beginning April 4th Ms. Miller will be available on Tuesdays from 3:10 to 5:00 to help band students who need to practice their instruments or choir students who want additional coaching. Please contact Ms. Miller directly if you would like your band or choir student to take advantage of that opportunity.
