8th Grade Park and Pool Field Trip

What: 8^th Grade Park and Pool Party

Why: Our 8^th graders have worked hard this year and we want to celebrate with them as they get ready to move on to high school.

When: Tuesday, June 14^th. Buses will depart at approximately 8:45 and take students to the Veneta City Park on Broadway. Students will be at the park from approximately 8:45 to 11:00. They will eat lunch at the park. After the park, they will go to the pool where they will have time to swim, play games, and hang out with their friends. There will be a DJ at the pool to play music. Students are expected to return by bus to FRMS around 2:00.

Staff and volunteers will supervise students at the park and at the pool. There will be games and contests for students to participate in while they are at the park and at the pool. There will be lunch at the park

All FRMS 8^th grade students are invited to participate in the pool and park party. FRMS 8^th Grade Options students who want to participate should contact the school office so we can add them to the list and make sure we have enough food, drink, and prizes for all. This event is not open to students who don’t attend FRSD and are not in the 8^th grade.

Rules: 8^th grade students are expected to follow the rules of the city park, the pool, and Fern Ridge Middle School. Essentially, they are expected to be safe, be respectful, and be responsible. We reserve the right to have parents pick up students who are not meeting behavioral expectations.

Liability: The school district is not liable in the case of student injury at the park or at the pool. While at the pool, students must follow the directions of the lifeguards and pool staff. While at the park, students must follow the directions of staff or supervising volunteers.

Field Trip Permission: If you do not want your 8^th grade student to go to the Pool/Park on the 14^th, please contact the office. We are happy to come up with an alternative for them if you do not want them to go. We will assume that they have parental permission to attend the park/pool party unless we hear otherwise from parents.
