pages 51-52 workbook

On Wednesday, we completed workbook page 51 during class and reviewed it.  Yesterday, after we worked with our new vocabulary through activity 1 on p.134, we split in to two groups and each group completed three sentences on p.52 in the workbook.  We then wrote them on the board and made sure we got all of the sentences written in our workbook.  The second activity (8) is optional, and up to five extra points. . . you are imagining that you are president of a Central American country and discussing what your politics would be about the environment.

p.149 vocabulario

Today we started Unidad 2.2 with the objectives and questions that followed.  Then, we went through our new words together on p.149 and worked on it during class.  It is due at the beginning of class tomorrow if I did not receive it today.  Make sure you turn it in on time to get off to the right start this semester!

Hot Seat Tuesday; Final exam on Thursday!

On Friday (after we turned in the take home assessment), we reviewed what the final exam was going to be like and take test notes.  Then, we played Jeopardy in teams to help prepare for the final exam.  Don’t forget that the speaking part of your final exam is taking place on Tuesday (El Asiento Caliente).  It will cover the five chapters that we did this semester (your group worked on creating questions on Wednesday and Thursday).  Keep working hard. . . first semester is almost over!=)

End of chapter review activities (124-125)

Today, we discussed the final project and how you would make adjustments to it (things you liked, didn’t like, etc.). . . then, we went through the end of the chapter activities on pages 124-125 to prepare for the take home assessment that you are going to receive tomorrow.  We also practiced with the vocabulary and the grammar concepts to prepare for the little white boards game tomorrow in teams (commands, conditional and vocabulary from p.127).  The take home assessment you receive tomorrow will be due at the beginning of class on Friday.  That is also the last day to turn in any missing assignments and complete any retakes.

pages 47-48 workbook due January 7th; project due January 9th (with presentations)

Today, we are caroling around the school.  Tomorrow, we will review the conditional tense (we talked about it on Wednesday as well as reviewed the first activity on p.44–the second activity was crossed out), and pages 47-48 workbook will be due the day you return from break.  We will be turning our workbook in that day as well, so make sure you are done with it.  We will also discuss what makes a good presentation tomorrow and who is going on Thursday or Friday for presenting when we return from break.  Hopefully you used the lab days wisely so you don’t have a lot to do over winter break for your project, but everyone needs to turn in the binder on Thursday, January 9th.  We will also do a holiday activity during class tomorrow.

p.127 vocabulario

Today, you took your test over Unidad 1.3.  Then, p.127 vocabulary (last chapter this semester) was assigned and is due on Wednesday since we are in the computer lab tomorrow to work on your project which is due in early January.

The past couple of days, we have reviewed pages 33-34 in the workbook (vocabulary) as well as completed some workbook pages during class (review of the reflexive verbs–p.35 activity 10 and all of page 36).  Today, we will discuss reflexive verbs as reciprocals (to each other) and these two workbook pages (37-38) will be reviewed on Monday.  We will also be having our first day in the computer lab for our final project on Tuesday, the 26th (group travel project) and starting to practice our holiday carols as well.

Today, we will continue to focus on the vocabulary since we are just starting the new chapter with questions/vocabulary activity practice.  Workbook pages 33-34 are due tomorrow, which most will work on during class and maybe even complete it all as well.

Today, the fashion show was presented (good job) and then the matching vocabulary quiz was completed as a group for those who did the fashion show.  Those who did not do the fashion show completed their test today after watching the performance in the theater.  The next vocabulary was assigned on p.99, and it is due by the end of the day on Friday.
