Fashion show/vocab. quiz on Thursday; test on Wednesday/Thursday

Today, you will receive a vocabulary handout to practice in preparation for the quiz/test (on Wednesday and Thursday).  It will be a competition between the two groups for a piece of candy and bonus point, but each member needs to complete a paper.  Then, the fashion show group can work on that (dress rehearsal in the theater tomorrow) with the actual show taking place on Thursday.  With those who are taking the test, we will do test notes and prepare for the assessment taking place on Wednesday and Thursday.  Keep working hard!  The vocabulary quiz for the fashion show group will take place on Thursday as well (after your show, but you get to work together on it).

p.28 workbook; fashion show or test?

Today, we went over the workbook pages with verbs like “gustar” and then took notes and discussed when we use “por” versus “para.”  Maybe you still have your notes from Spanish 2?  Then, we looked at p.28 in the workbook (top activity did together) and then split up the room for por and para (each side is required to do six sentences that represent the points your side is in charge of).  We will review tomorrow before starting a project workday for the fashion show and practice with the vocabulary and grammar activities for the other students who don’t want to do the fashion show.  Both assessments will be next week!

Workbook pages 25-27 for Monday; fashion show?

Today, we reviewed the top activity on p.24 (make sure you complete the bottom one even though we didn’t go over it today).  Then, we discussed the possibility of a fashion show (refer to the handout) and went through some review workbook pages (25-27, which we will review on Monday).  We also started Coco along with the handout that you need to complete as part of our Day of the Dead activity (should be finished by the end of class on Thursday with it).  Keep up the good work!

p.24 workbook; fashion show?

Today, we reviewed p.23 in the workbook.  We also went through the “En Contexto” and did a faux fashion show with what was presented in the book.  We divided up the seven questions at the bottom to ask the students who were absent today (four) to answer them tomorrow and receive participation points.  Think about the fashion show and what your group might want to do.  We also discussed p.24 workbook which we will review tomorrow before discussing verbs like “gustar” and assigning those workbook pages.

p.23 workbook

On Friday, we went over the new vocabulary on p.75 and turned it in.  Then, we went through the objectives and discussed the questions that followed and the possibility of doing a fashion show for this chapter.  You got your workbook back and p.23 in the workbook was assigned and maybe even completed during class.  We will review it on Monday.

p.75 vocabulary

Today, we finished the test for Unidad 1.1 (if you were gone or need to finish it, make sure you come in before school, during a T.A. or open period to finish it).  The next vocabulary is due tomorrow which is on p.75.  Keep working hard as the quarter ends next Thursday!

Unidad 1.1 test on Wednesday/Thursday!

Today, we took notes and discussed the assessment for Unidad 1.1.  We will do the first two sections of the test (listening and reading) on Wednesday and the rest of the test on Thursday.  Make sure you have all of your notes to best be prepared!  Keep working hard!

p.20 workbook; turn in workbook tomorrow!

Today, we did the two listening pages out of the workbook (11-12).  We also talked about and took notes on the present and past perfect tenses (p.46 in the book).  Then, we went over one from each on p.20 in the workbook and had a little bit of time to work on it.  Be prepared to turn in your workbook at the beginning of class tomorrow (after we review p.20 in the workbook).

p.19 workbook

Today, we did a listening activity out of the book that we recorded our answers in the workbook.  Then, we discussed and reviewed when to use the two different past tenses in Spanish (preterite and imperfect) and started working on p.19 in the workbook.  We will review this page at the beginning of class tomorrow.  I also talked about the culture projects and if your group did not include the necessary information in the book, you could create another slide or two to earn more points on your group culture project (if you didn’t like your score).  Please see me if you have any questions.
