p.108 workbook for Thursday

If you are behind, make sure you catch up with the new vocabulary on p.321 and p.107 workbook.  Yesterday, I explained p.108 in the workbook (the second activity, pick which state you want to research before answering the questions. . . doesn’t have to be Oregon unless that is what you choose).  We will review this workbook page on Thursday.

p.107 workbook; finish vocabulary for tomorrow!

Today, we reviewed the vocabulary on p.321 and discussed the grey words and how it’s due tomorrow.  We then went through the objectives page and questions, and divided up the “En Contexto” into thirds for those who were here today.  Ana and Carlos will each have two questions to respond to from the bottom of the “En Contexto.”  The vocabulary workbook page 107 was assigned as well and we will review that tomorrow.

p.321 vocabulario due Tuesday

Today, you are taking your test over Unidad 4.2.  Yesterday, we did the hot seat speaking portion of your test through the class reunion (good job).  You will get your new partner today and the next vocabulary will be due at the beginning of class on Tuesday.

Hot Seat on Monday; Unidad 4.2 test on Tuesday

On Monday, we will be doing the speaking portion of our test (25th high school reunion–don’t forget to dress up!).  The more you get into it and make it realistic, the smoother and more fun it will be.  On Friday, we took test notes, which we will take the chapter test on Tuesday.  Both of these will be on your first quarter grade.  Keep working hard!

p.297 vocabulary quiz on Thursday!; turn in workbook tomorrow (p.104)

Today, we finished playing “Tengo” to prepare for our vocabulary quiz on Thursday over the words on p.297.  We then talked about the last workbook page (104) that we will review tomorrow and complete the listening activities before submitting it.  We also voted on when the test and “Hot Seat” or 25th high school reunion were going to be, and decided that Monday was the “Hot Seat” (dress up) and Tuesday would be the chapter test.  We will prepare for those on Wednesday and Friday, as Thursday is the vocabulary quiz.  Keep working hard!

pages 102-103 workbook; get “Tengo” sheet ready!

Today, we went over p.101 in the workbook.  Then, we discussed the past perfect subjunctive and took notes on it (p.286 in the book).  We went through one from each on the workbook pages (102-103–not doing the last activity) and you received your “Tengo” sheet for our game tomorrow.

p.101 workbook; writing piece due tomorrow

Today, we practiced with the vocabulary a little bit through some activities and discussed workbook p.101.  I would have liked to play a game with our vocabulary words; however, the class wanted time to work on the writing piece (due tomorrow over a variety of topics–dream job/profession and necessary things to do to achieve it, childhood dream/profession, etc.), the workbook page or complete the vocabulary if it hasn’t been turned in yet (p.297).

p.297 vocabulario due Wednesday

Yesterday, we went through the Cultural Opener for Unidad 4.  New partner groups were drawn for the next chapter/section and vocabulary was split which is on p.297.  With the professions, it’s best to start, “una persona que…”  The vocabulary is due on Wednesday before we start our Communication Day.

Examen 4.1–test was Tuesday; speaking part today!

On Tuesday, you took the Unidad 4.1 test.  Today is the speaking part of your test (split up in two groups)–the interview.  Your group designed what job position and questions to ask the candidates and one will be “hired” at the end from each group.  Your group will be answering questions for about 20 minutes. . . hopefully you dress up a little like it’s an interview–edge on getting on the job?  If there is time, new partners will be selected for the next chapter’s vocabulary or we will decide how to go about it as a class this time (today or tomorrow).

p.95 workbook; turn in workbook tomorrow; vocabulary quiz on Thursday!

Today (I was at a meeting), I hope you worked on p.95 in the workbook (progressive tenses using verbs like “andar,” “ir” and “seguir.”  Then, you did a vocabulary partner handout game and started brainstorming in your group for the job interview (speaking part of the test).  We will do the listening pages in the workbook and review p.95 before submitting them.  Then, we will finish “Tengo” to prepare for our vocabulary quiz (p.275) on Thursday.  Keep up the good work!
