Over the next month or so, FRSD is collecting data from a wide variety of groups. This is for the “Continuing Improvement Plan” required every three years by Oregon Department of Education. Input from multiple sources and stakeholders is required by the state for the final plan. Emails are going out to Teachers, Instructional Assistants, Administrators, etc…

For the two groups mentioned in the title above, Community Partners, (e.g. Businesses/Elected Officials/Non-Profits, Early Childhood Education/After School Programs, TSP) and Parents, we have links to the surveys here in this post. The “indicators” on your particular survey were chosen from 18 different indicators the state wants Fern Ridge School District to address in our improvement plan and are verbatim from the master list. If you fall into either of these groups, please take a few minutes and answer the questions in these surveys. The direct links are below. Thanks in advance for your participation.

Fern Ridge School District’s Annual Title Night will be held December 10 at 5 p.m. in the district office’s board room located at 88834 Territorial Highway, Elmira. This is your opportunity to discover the ways we use our Title dollars to serve your students.

A huge thank you to The Corson & Johnson Law Firm, Wendy Craigmiles, and Andrew Neill of Bicycle Way of Life for providing bike helmets to 25 of our students. These lucky few received some awesome, great fitting helmets. Thank you, Corson & Johnson Law Firm for choosing VES kids as recipients of your generosity!

VES is celebrating Red Ribbon Week by pledging to be drug free.

Mr. Moeller’s class created self portraits with their pledge. They are SO AWESOME!

Thanks to the Oregon Country Fair and PALS for giving our kids the opportunity to learn about African drumming and dance during the two week Artist in Residence experience at Veneta Elementary. The kids loved it, learned from it, and did a great job performing at the assembly today.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at Veneta Elementary’s annual Open House on Thursday, September 27th, from 6:30-7:30pm. Come meet your child’s teacher and see what your child has been learning!

 Tuesday, Sept. 4th, is the first day of school at VES.

Our doors open at 7:30am. Parents may walk their students to class at that time.

Classes start at 7:55am and the dismissal bell rings at 2:25pm.

Happy summer everyone! Registration and supply fee reminder letters were mailed out yesterday. Look for them in the next couple days. We have a new, online registration option for returning students this year. The letter that was mailed has your login information if you choose to register online. If you don’t want to register online, you can always come in and fill out the paperwork during the normal registration period. We’re just trying to make it a bit more convenient for families if they’d like to sign up after hours. Please remember you will still need to come in to the school and  fill out transportation information. It should go super quick if you’ve already done the online registration!

Tuesday, August 21st (All students) 7:00am to 7:00pm

Wednesday, August 22nd (All students) 8:00am to 3:00pm

Thursday, August 23rd (All students) 8:00am to 12:00pm
