12th Annual Veneta Auction April 26th

Our 12th Annual Veneta Elementary School Auction is less than two months away. This year’s theme is Candy Land and we need your help.  We are accepting donations of all kinds and all sizes, big or small, service or gift certificate or merchandise. Every donation helps us meet our goals. If you or someone you know owns a business and can donate goods or services to our auction, we would be very grateful. Our goal is to raise money to help pay for field trips, playground equipment, music teacher and much more.

We also ask parents at each grade level to donate to specific theme baskets for each grade level. Information on this year’s themes will be coming home soon.

All items donated either individually or to a class basket will be included in either the silent auction, the oral auction, or the raffle. Every little bit helps and it all adds up.

Our raffle ticket sales contest for this year’s auction will start on March 10th. The grand prize for the raffle will be a Kindle Fire HD. There will also be lots of other prizes as well. Students will earn prizes based on the amount of money they raise for the auction. Students who raise $20 will get an extra recess and their names in a drawing for some very cool prizes. Students who raise $50 will get to go on a special field trip to the park this spring and have ice cream. Students who raise $100 will get to experience a “drive in” movie during the school day complete with treats. Finally, students who raise $200 will get to play laser tag or go cosmic bowling with the principal. All of these prizes are cumulative which means that if you raise $200 you get the recess and the field trip and the drive in movie and the laser tag.

The auction itself will be Saturday, April 26th with the door opening at 4:30. There will be free child care, a bake sale, and credit cards will be accepted.

We still need volunteers to help us with decorations, childcare, food, donations, etc. Our next Auction planning meeting is March 11th at 6:30 here at VES.
