FRMS is starting the forecasting process for current Sixth and Seventh Grade students. Students only have to choose which class they would like for their one electiveclass. They can choose a year long class or two semester classes.
Below is a link to the forecasting forms and elective courses. They will also be included in the packets on 5/11. The third page is the forecasting form. Students can drop the form off at the school, mail them back to the school, or send a picture or scan of the form to frmsoffc@fernridge.k12.or.us Forms can also be picked by FRMS staff as part of our Monday Packet Curbside service.
Since students may not get their first choice, please make sure they also include their second and third choices as well. Forecasting forms must be returned by May 22nd.
Questions or concerns please contact the FRMS Office.

Hello, incoming EHS families! I wanted to send a quick note about the music program at the high school, particularly for those who are not currently enrolled in music but may be interested in joining at the high school level.
We have three music classes at EHS. We have band and choir, and we will have either an advanced band or an advanced choir, depending on projected enrollment for each. Band is available only to students with previous experience on a band instrument (most likely current band students), but choir is open to everyone! Many students enter choir in 9th grade with no previous experience. If you like to sing, I encourage you to give it a try. It is a really low-pressure way to ease into music ensembles, and I never force students to sing alone if they don’t want to.
Music classes are a wonderful thing to have in your schedule in high school. Not only will you get the enjoyment of music in your day, but you’ll get to be part of a social group that supports each other and has a lot of fun together.
Please note that while the sample schedules for 9th grade look busy, there is plenty of room for music. Students can postpone PE until the following year, as well as foreign languages and other electives. Assuming that students will be passing their classes throughout high school, they will have ample open space in their schedules as juniors and seniors, so there will be room to take anything that was postponed.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! I hope to see you in the fall.

Attention 8th Graders: We are working on your slide show to help celebrate you promotion to 8th grade. The slide show will be posted on the school website as well as the district Facebook page. If you would like to participate, please choose one or two “candid” pictures that show you in “real’ life- pictures of you playing sports, engaging in your favorite hobby, hanging out at home, etc. Please make sure the picture wasn’t take from a distance- we want pictures where you are front and center…and you should be the only person in the photo.
Along with the pictures, please take the time to answer the questions below:
- What do you want to be when you are an adult and why?
- What are your favorite memories of FRMS?
- Are there teachers or staff members you want to say thank you to? Include what they did that you are thanking them for.
Email your pictures and your responses to Mrs. French at mfrench@fernridge.k12.or.us by Friday, May 15th. You can also drop your pictures and your question responses to the school. Please make sure your student’s name is on any picture you want back.
Participation in the 8th grade Slide Show this year is voluntary. By submitting your picture and your answers, you are giving us permission to include them in a slide show that will be posted on the website and is likely to be shared to social media.
