Please note: For registration purposes incoming 6th graders from Veneta or Elmira Elementary are considered returning students. Students new to FRMS who plan on enrolling in the FRSD Options should follow the steps below.
Families new to Fern Ridge School District wanting to enroll their student into the middle school will have several ways to register this year:
1 Digital Registration Online –
New Students: Follow the New Student online registration link below to register. New students students will be required to also provide additional documentation i.e. proof of residency, and birth certificates. Families can scan and email or take a photo and email these documents to our office email at frmsoffc@fernridge.k12.or.us

2. Paper Registration –
- Get the packet: Paper registration packets for will be available for to pick up outside in front of the school office beginning Tuesday, August 18th.
- Complete: Please complete all of the forms in the packet including the immunization form . New students must also submit a copy of their birth certificate and proof of residency (mail, utility bill, rental agreement).
- Return: Drop off your enrollment packet to FRMS during new student registration on August 19th or during regular office hours before August 24th. You may also scan your completed registration packet and submit it to FRMS via email at frmsoffc@fernridge.k12.or.us or fax (541) 935-8234 Please include copies of immunization records, birth certificates, and proof of residency if you return the documents digitally.
3. Registration by appointment
- Contact FRMS at the 541-935-8230 to set up an appointment to complete paperwork in person on August 19th from 7 AM to 7 PM. You are welcome to pick up the new student registration packet, complete it at home, and bring it to your appointment. Or you can plan on completing the packet at school.
- When you come to register on the 19th, please enter the building through the gym entrance and exit through the North Side entrance. We will be limiting the number of people in the gym at one time, so you may be asked to wait outside until it is your turn. Masks must be worn inside the building. Social distancing must be observed while you are waiting to get inside the gym as well as in the gym.
Planners: One of our key goals at middle school is to teach students how to be organized. For that reason, we require all FRMS students to have weekly planners. Planners will be used for both distance learning and onsite instruction this year. In the past, planners were included in our $10 registration fee. This year we are waiving our $10 Student Body Registration Fee. If you would like to purchase a FRMS Planner for your student, we will be selling them for $5 each. They will be for sale in the office. You are also welcome to provide your child with a different planner for them to use.
Yearbooks and P.E. Shirts will not be sold during registration. Information on how when and how 19-20 yearbooks can be picked up will be coming soon.
