p.125 vocabulario–in-class assignment; projects and presentations tomorrow!

Today, we split the room and half and one side of the room is in charge of the culture pages  and the other side is in charge of the objective questions and the “En Contexto” on pages 106-107 (not the questions).  Going through the Spanish as well as the English and updating information from the culture (since the books are outdated) to have prepared for Wednesday is the goal (each side had one leader who delegated and coordinated who is doing what for Wednesday).  We also talked about projects and presentations which will take place tomorrow (discussed what makes a good presentation, including an introduction from those who are doing a video as well as the “meeting the deadline” homework assignment as long as your physical project gets turned in tomorrow).  Grades are coming out again soon, so stay caught up in all of your classes!

Workbook pages 39-40 for Friday (turning workbook in then too)!

Yesterday, we took notes on stem-changing verbs in the preterite tense (such as preferir and dormir).  Then, we discussed the workbook pages that are due Friday (turning workbook in on Friday as well).  We adjusted some of the activities (activity 20, just respond with the yes or no and then writing the verb; activity 23 on p.40, you only have to do one of “leer,” one of “creer” and one of “oir.”  We will review workbook pages 39-40 on Friday and then turn it in.  We will decide about listening pages as well before submitting them.

pages 37-38 workbook for Wednesday

Today, we took notes on demonstrative adjectives and pronouns which can be found on p.84 in the book if you were absent or didn’t take the notes.  We did some practice and then talked about the two workbook pages that we will review on Wednesday (did one from each).  Tomorrow is a project workday so some prepared to work on it!

p.36 workbook

Today, we took notes on the verbs “saber” and “conocer” which have similar meanings but are used in different contexts.  There was an in-class assignment that practiced these two verbs and understanding when to use each (based on the sentence/visual).  Then, p.36 in the workbook was assigned and there was time to discuss the project for this chapter.  Your first project workday is Tuesday so make sure you have your idea squared away before then.

pages 33-34 workbook; work on project (due 12/3)

Today, we practiced with vocabulary from the chapter through some question and response with different partners (preguntas personales).  We also went through past tense conjugations (review concept) and whether certain groups of people are well informed or not about certain topics.  Then, we discussed the two workbook pages which are on 33-34 (due Thursday).  Begin working on your project (received a handout last week) which will be due the Tuesday you return from Thanksgiving (December 3rd).

p.97 vocabulario

Today, I talked about the new vocabulary page and how it is due on Friday.  It is on p.97 in the book and we will be doing a project for this chapter instead of a test as your assessment.

pages 29-30 workbook; turn in workbook on Monday!

Today, we discussed the final workbook pages for the chapter (due Monday).  You are only doing two of the four activities though (activity 22 and then choose from one of the other three activities–past tense–five good sentences–don’t use the imperfect tense since we haven’t learned it yet!).  Keep practicing with the vocabulary on p.73 and the grammar concepts (verb conjugations that we have done this chapter).

pages 27-28 workbook

Today, we took notes over several more irregular verbs in the past tense (p.63).  We went around the room and practiced conjugating them to prepare for a competition between the two classes next week.  Workbook pages 27-28 were assigned and we will review them on Wednesday (the top activity on p.28 will be a speaking one instead of a writing one).  Keep practicing your vocabulary words on p.73 too!

pages 25-26 workbook

Today, we took notes on present tense stem-changing verbs (can be found on p.60 in the book).  Then, we looked at the workbook pages and worked on those (pages 25-26 which we will review on Monday).  On p.25, we cut out activity 13.  Keep working hard as the quarter ends next Thursday (last day to turn in any missing assignments and complete any retakes).

p.24 workbook

Yesterday, I had a sub in the morning due to a meeting with my Equity Council group at Lane ESD.  The workbook on p.24 was assigned (everyone does the first activity and then you choose one of the next two activities–five sentences for whichever activity you choose).  We will review on Wednesday along with practicing the new vocabulary on p.73.
