Construction Update- Please Read

The school office will not be reopening at Veneta on August 31st as planned. Instead we will be at the high school a few more days. Class lists will be posted Wednesday, September 2nd at VES.

Here is the most current plan:

Monday, August 31st:   Office located in the LCC classrooms at Elmira High School.

Tuesday, September 1st:  Office closed all day. (Morning for training, Tuesday afternoon for the move back to VES)

Wednesday, September 2nd: Office reopens at VES. Class lists posted at VES.

Thursday, September 3th: Office open 6:30 to 3:00

Friday, September 4th: Office closed.

Monday, September 7th: Labor Day

Tuesday, September 8th : School Starts. We will be open for the first day of school.

Some reminders: If you have not completed the registration process, please do so as soon as possible but no later than September 2nd. We really want all students to be able to start school the first day.

School starts at 7:55 this year so please plan on students being here by 7:50. School ends at 2:25 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and  Fridays. We will have early release at 12:45 on Wednesdays.

Construction will be ongoing through the fall and will impact our parking lot. A section of the parking lot will be fenced off for construction. Please be careful when using our parking lot, do not use the lane closest to the building, do not go around buses, drop students off at the crosswalk, etc. Check our handbook for more parking lot information. Our parking lot is a safety concern because buses,  parents, and staff use the same lot. Next summer they will be putting in a separate bus loop which will solve that issue.

In the midst of the construction headaches, we want to remember how lucky we are that Veneta is being remodeled, space is being added, and safety concerns addressed. It’s going to be beautiful when its done and so very worth it. Thank you again for your support of our school bond.
