Please call before 1:00 if your child is going to go on a different bus or get picked up at the end of the day. Bus passes have to be completed in triplicate, logged, filed, and then a copy distributed to the student and teacher. It takes about 5 minutes to process each bus pass and we get upwards of 30 bus phone calls each day. That’s a lot of additional work for Ronda and Lorie on top of their other duties.
The end of the day is an especially busy time in the office. Notes get taken to the classrooms around 2:00, including bus passes. If you call after 1:00 and especially if you call after 2:00, there is a chance that your child might not get the bus pass in time. We want all of our students to be safe, so please help us by calling as early as you can, so we have the time to get a bus pass to the classroom.
Parents need to provide the office with the bus number and the address where their child is going. Due to federal privacy guidelines, we can’t look it up and put it on the bus pass ourselves. Please be aware that bus numbers do change so you can call the bus barn at 541-935-1969 to double check.
When it comes to how students get home or to daycare, consistency is the best. Having a set schedule of where your child goes afterschool each day helps us provide a safe and smooth dismissal for everyone.
Thank you- VES Office Staff
