Reminders and Updates

Just some brief reminders

1. There are only 53 school days 13th Annual Veneta Elementary School Auction!!!!  Please help us make this year’s auction the best ever. The Auction Committee meets again on Tuesday, February 2nd at 6:30. We have lots of great ideas to make this year’s Auction fantastic but we need your help. Whether you want to help with  soliciting donations, publicity, set up, clean up, planning- there is a lot to do.
2. Lost and Found items will be donated to charity on February 5th. If you think your child’s might have something in lost and found, please stop by and check.
3. Thank you to Jim Bowditch for putting up the tile backsplash in our new cafeteria. We were able to reuse the ceramic tiles that Alex Humphrey helped our students create several years ago as part of our Artist in Residency program. The tiles add a real splash of color to the new cafeteria.
4. Just a reminder to parents who use our text message service-If your phone number changes, you need to sign up for text messages with your new number. The system won’t automatically switch you over.
5. Immunizations- Please make sure your child is up to date on all needed immunizations. Exclusion day is February 18th.
6. Report cards go home with students on February 8th. Please make a note to check your child’s back pack.
7. Save the Date: VES will host our Family Science Night on March 1st with Science Educator extraordinaire Bob Curtis from Lane ESD. Details will be coming soon. Details to come.
8. Save the Date Part Two: Valentine Family Dance on February 12th. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Children cannot be dropped off unattended or left  unattended. We had a fabulous dance last year and this year’s promises to be even better. Details to come.
