2016-17 Kindergarten Update

We had a great turnout for our kindergarten information night. It was a lot of fun meeting all of our future kindergarten students and their families.

We have just updated our kindergarten registration links and information for next year. You will see the link to our kindergarten registration page on the right hand side.

Our official Kindergarten Registration day is May 6th. However this year for the first time our registration process will be online. The online registration is expected to go “live” in mid-April so watch this space for more information. There are going to be parts of the registration process that will still need to be completed in person- showing us your proof of residency, giving us a copy of your child’s birth certificate, and filling out immunization information. Families can finish this part as well as complete transportation, emergency closure, and walking field trip permission slips during our official registration on May 6th.

We will also have computers available for those families who do not complete the online registration before May 6th.

This summer the Fern Ridge School District is excited to bring the KITS (Kids Into Transition To School) program to our community. KITS provides a summer school experience for incoming kindergarten students focusing on academic/social/emotional skills. There will be a KITS information night on April 28th at 6:30 in the Konnie Room at the Fern Ridge Library.

We will also be offering school tours for incoming kindergarten students and their families on April 12th at 8:30 AM and April 14th at 8:30 AM.

Finally, our Family Resource Center at Veneta Elementary will be holding another play group on April 4th at 10:00 AM. Families with children not yet in school are invited to participate.
