Tooth Taxi Returns February 2nd thru February 6th

Just a reminder that the Tooth Taxi will be back at Veneta Elementary School February 2nd through February 6th to provide free dental care to our students- regardless of income or insurance status. The Tooth Taxi dentist and staff can examine your child (including x-rays) and then perform any needed dental services including filling cavities, teeth cleaning, extracting teeth, etc. All services are performed in the Tooth Taxi RV which will be parked right here at VES. Families will not be charged. The Tooth Taxi staff are highly trained and professional. The Tooth Taxi’s visit is a great opportunity for your child to receive the dental care he or she may need.

There is a huge connection between oral health and student learning. A recent study in the American Journal of Public Health found that students poor oral health were three times as likely to miss school as a result of dental pain. Children with poor oral health were also found to perform less well in school due to dental pain. Simply put it’s  hard to focus on learning when you mouth hurts.

Please take advantage of this opportunity and this great resource to improve your child’s dental health. All parents need to do is to complete the required Tooth Taxi packet. Simply stop by the office to pick one up or call and we will send it home with your child. Completed Tooth Taxi packets are due back by January 29th. Again, there is no charge to the family for any of the services the Tooth Taxi provides. Please call the school if you have any questions.
