Teachers will hold Google Meetings with students one final time on Monday, June 8th and Tuesday, June 9th, but will not be assigning any new work the final week of school and all assignments are due on Friday, June 12th.  Final grades will be completed by Friday, June 19th.

We hope you all have fantastic summer and we are very proud of you for persevering through this extraordinary time.

Graduation 2020 is Friday, June 5th at 7:00 PM.  Due to the unique circumstances we must limit the number of guests and ask most people to remain in their car throughout the ceremony.  In order to help make this night more accessible we are offering multiple platforms to tune in.  Graduation will be broadcast on our local radio station KOCF 92.7 FM.  You can stream the broadcast here if you can’t get radio reception:  KOCF Live Stream

We will also stream the video of the ceremony on Youtube Live.  You can access the stream at the following link:  Youtube Live Stream

We hope that by offering these options you can still experience graduation even if you can’t attend.

Please feel free to call the high school at 541-935-8200 if you have any questions.

Elmira High School is pleased to present our annual Awards Night to you beginning at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd.  We want to thank Mr. James Monegan for his hard work on the video and Mrs. Lorie Haffner for creating the slideshow.  Congratulations to all of our award winners.  All awards will be mailed home to recipients over the summer.

2020 EHS Virtual Awards Night Presentation

This is just a friendly reminder that graduation is still scheduled on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 PM.  We are working hard on finalizing our plans for that evening and will get a detailed plan out to seniors and their families next week.

Elmira High School will not be in session on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.  This will prompt a change in our distance learning schedule for next week.  Tuesday and Thursday will continue to be Gold Day schedules with periods 5-7 meeting those days.  Wednesday and Friday will be Purple Day schedules with periods 1-4 meeting.  We hope everyone enjoys a restful 3 day weekend.

We have been working hard to refine the details for graduation in June.  Please refer to the attached letter for additional information.  Please feel free to contact the office at 541-935-8200 if you have questions.

Graduation 2020 Update

Caps and gowns have arrived for seniors.  Seniors may pick up their cap and gown from the high school from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on both Monday, May 11th and Tuesday, May 12th.  If you can’t make those times, the front office is open from 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

We know that this spring has created much uncertainty for our students and their families.  This has been especially true for our seniors.  We have been honoring our seniors each Friday night by turning on the lights at the stadium at 20:20 (8:20 PM) for twenty minutes, but we know this is no replacement for graduation.  On that note, we are pleased to announce that we are moving forward with a plan to hold graduation on its scheduled date of June 5th.  We are working on the details of this event, but it will involve vehicles and a ceremony that will take place outdoors.  We are in the process of planning this event in detail and will have more information to share with families next week.

Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these unprecedented circumstances and we will post a more detailed plan next week.

May 4 to May 8 is the week set aside to recognize teachers for the extraordinary work they do with our students.

Great teachers do more than teach reading, writing, and math.  They help set our children up for success in life.  Whether students enter into a trade, go to college, or jump into a career, they are more prepared for life because of the teachers who guided and supported them along the way.

Even when faced with the incredible task of educating students virtually on a moment’s notice, our Fern Ridge teachers have shown they are dedicated to their students, no matter the circumstances.

Now more then ever we want to recognize the teachers who step into the lives of their students and make a positive impact.  Please join me by thanking all of our Fern Ridge teaching staff!
