8th grade8th grade fly-up, tonight @ 6:30 in the EHS theater.  This informational meeting for incoming 9th graders will last no longer than an hour, and it is a great opportunity for families to start to prepare for High School.

track.and.fieldMark your calendar.  The District Track meet is at EHS this year.  The track meet is set for Thursday May 15th and Saturday May 17th.  Field events start at 11:00 on both days and running events start and 1:25 on Thursday and 1:00 on Saturday.  Campus will be closed to EHS students at lunchtime on Thursday the 15th, so if students do not want to each a school lunch, they should bring one.  In addition, all students will be parking in the back staff parking lot so as to allow for the extra space that will be needed up front.  The meet is free to students on Thursday, however the Sky-Em league charges for adults both days and for students on Saturday.  More information will be put out as this event gets closer.

calendar changeAt the School Board meeitng last night the Board opted to replace 5 total days of the 9 that have been lost and add 4 at the end of the year (we already made up one day on February 17ty). The 23rd of May will be reinstated as a teacher work (non-student) day. The last week we will have students Monday through Thursday (June 16th-19th) with Friday (the 20th) being the teacher workday at the end of the year. If there are those that have unavoidable, prearranged conflicts, please contact the school so we can work out a plan.  This should be the final change, regardless of future inclement weather.  In addition, the last day for seniors, and the graduation day HAVE NOT changed.  If you have questions, please contact the school

Lots of info. to get out, I will try to be brief. The high school has power and heat. We do NOT have water due to the domestic well being on a different electrical line than the building. EPUD is working on it, they estimate 24-48 hours. We ARE having school tomorrow (unless something elsr comes up) We will have water, port-a-potties and hand washing stations by the time students arrive in the morning.  Wish us luck.

schools.in.sessionAt the FRSD School Board meeting last night, the board elected to add back a 2nd day as a result of the  school days lost due to snow.  The additional day is Friday, May 23rd.  Please mark your calendar.  This is in addition to the day added as the last meeting, Monday, February 17th.  If we do not see any additional weather closures this school year, these will be the only two days added back.

calendar changeAt the school board meeting on Monday night the Board changed the school calendar adding February 17th (President’s Day) as an attendance day for students and staff.  We are working with the Fern Ridge Education Association, the Adminstrative Team and the Board to find additional days we can add back from the weather closures.  These changes will be forthcoming in the near future.  As soon as they are finalized it will be posted up on the website and school calendars.
