Hello Recently Graduated Seniors (Class of 2020) and Rising Seniors (Class of 2021),

While you may be stuck at home during summer 2020, use that extra time to get a jump start on your education! If you’ve just graduated from high school, will graduate in 2021, or passed your reasoning through language arts or math GED tests, you can take a tuition-free summer class at Lane! Whether you’re interested in taking a credit class for fun or a class that will get you one step closer to your college degree, Lane will help you take that next step with one tuition-free class this summer. For a 4-credit course, that’s a $480 savings!

Here’s the fine print:
All summer classes are taught remotely (summer term is June 22-September 12th and classes vary in length). Fees and textbook costs still apply. You’ll need to meet any prerequisites for the course you want to enroll in.

Deadlines:
Apply to Lane for summer term entry by Monday, June 22nd 2:00pm
Complete all admissions steps and register by Friday, June 26th 2:00pm
Even if the course starts in July and August, you must register before Friday, June 26th,
Complete the required tuition-free summer course form by Sunday, June 28th

Learn more and apply at: https://www.lanecc.edu/summercourse
If you have any questions or need help with this process you can email Cassadie Ross at cross@lesd.k12.or.us!

Students may begin returning books, Chromebooks, music folder, instruments and other items beginning on Wednesday, June 10th and continuing through Friday, June 12th.  The office and front lobby will be open all three days from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM.

Teachers will hold Google Meetings with students one final time on Monday, June 8th and Tuesday, June 9th, but will not be assigning any new work the final week of school and all assignments are due on Friday, June 12th.  Final grades will be completed by Friday, June 19th.

We hope you all have fantastic summer and we are very proud of you for persevering through this extraordinary time.

Graduation 2020 is Friday, June 5th at 7:00 PM.  Due to the unique circumstances we must limit the number of guests and ask most people to remain in their car throughout the ceremony.  In order to help make this night more accessible we are offering multiple platforms to tune in.  Graduation will be broadcast on our local radio station KOCF 92.7 FM.  You can stream the broadcast here if you can’t get radio reception:  KOCF Live Stream

We will also stream the video of the ceremony on Youtube Live.  You can access the stream at the following link:  Youtube Live Stream

We hope that by offering these options you can still experience graduation even if you can’t attend.

Please feel free to call the high school at 541-935-8200 if you have any questions.

Elmira High School is pleased to present our annual Awards Night to you beginning at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2nd.  We want to thank Mr. James Monegan for his hard work on the video and Mrs. Lorie Haffner for creating the slideshow.  Congratulations to all of our award winners.  All awards will be mailed home to recipients over the summer.

2020 EHS Virtual Awards Night Presentation

This is just a friendly reminder that graduation is still scheduled on Friday, June 5th at 7:00 PM.  We are working hard on finalizing our plans for that evening and will get a detailed plan out to seniors and their families next week.

Elmira High School will not be in session on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.  This will prompt a change in our distance learning schedule for next week.  Tuesday and Thursday will continue to be Gold Day schedules with periods 5-7 meeting those days.  Wednesday and Friday will be Purple Day schedules with periods 1-4 meeting.  We hope everyone enjoys a restful 3 day weekend.

Seniors,

In the past, it has been announced during graduation specific student achievements, such as, student scholarships and grant awards, along with post-secondary plans, such as college/university, community college, military, or workforce plans.  We are continuing to work with the senior class to collect this information.   We would like this piece to be a part of the diploma/packets that the seniors will receive the night of graduation.  If you would like your information to be included please contact Sandie Smith (sandieevo@aol.com) or Brittany McMillan (bmcmillan@fernridge.k12.or.us) with the following information:
*Scholarship and/or Grant awards received (name of scholarship/grant and amount awarded)
*Post-Secondary plans (i.e., Which college/university will you be attending? Which military branch are you joining? If entering the workforce, what are your career ambitions?)
DEADLINE to submit your information is June 2nd, by 5pm.
Please let me know know you have any questions! Go Falcons!
–Brittany McMillan, EHS Counselor
