Jog-A-Thon This Friday, October 3rd

Don’t forget that this Friday is our Jog-A-Thon. Our Jog-A-Thon is one of two fundraisers we have each year to help our parent group, PALS, raise the money to pay for field trips, playground equipment, music instruction, assemblies, Cotton Candy and the obstacle course at Field Day, Outdoor School, and many more things for the classrooms and our school. In order to have a successful Jog-A-Thon, we need your help.

Please ask your family and friends to help support your child at the Jog-A-Thon by making a donation, small or large, any amount helps. Students are encouraged to ask all of the people they know- family members, friends, neighbors, etc. We are asking for a flat donation and not one that is based on your child running or walking a certain number of laps. If you can’t find the envelope that went home to put donations in, just put your child’s name on the outside of a regular  envelope along with the total amount of donations they received. We have some great prizes that children can earn to thank them for their hard work in getting donations.

Everyone who brings in a donation, no matter the size of that donation, will be entered into a drawing. The winner of that drawing will get a  “Disney Frozen” prize and lunch with the principal at Our Daily Bread.

We also have great prizes for individuals based on how much in donations they collect. If you bring in $20 or more in donations you will get an extra recess. If you bring in $50 or more in donations you get a bingo party. If you bring in $100 or more you get a fun drive in movie experience. And if you bring in $200 or more you get to go to lazer tag or cosmic bowling with the principal.

Plus everyone who jogs that day will get a Veneta Cougars bracelet. And, as an extra bonus, everyone who runs or walks the track for the entire 30 minutes without stopping will get into a special drawing for fun Glow In The Dark prizes for “glowing” during the event. Plus the class that raises the most money gets a field trip to the park and an ice cream treat.

Most important of all, every dollar raised from the Jog-A-Thon goes to our students to help support the fabulous things PALS does for our school. Our school budget is still very very tight and the extra support we receive from PALS makes a huge difference. Without PALS we would not have field trips or Outdoor School or a music teacher or new playground and P.E equipment to name just a few of the ways PALS makes a difference.
Please send the donations in the envelopes on Friday.  Parents, younger siblings, and other family members are also welcome to join us for the Jog-A-Thon. Below is the schedule of when grade levels will participate:
