Fern Ridge School District is pleased to announce their participation in the CATCH program. This is being funded through grant dollars and Lane County Public Health.
Each elementary school will receive over $3,000 worth of new P.E. equipment and Health curriculum materials.
The grant also includes money to support the implementation of the program throughout the year.
Some important information about what CATCH will look like in our schools:
- The 1st Wednesday of every month = CATCH Day
- Students will be encouraged to wear active wear clothes
- Teachers will be teaching specific CATCH Lessons
- We will be planning a CATCH Family Night in January
- Our cafeteria will be incorporating CATCH components in the cafeteria and on our menus

Halloween is almost here! As you may have already heard, students will be able to dress in their costumes after lunch for a school parade and classroom activities. Please review the Halloween guidelines and talk with your student about them.
Halloween evening (October 31st) from 5:00-7:00pm will be the EES Harvest Carnival! Looking forward to seeing lots of students and families! Thank you to everyone who has donated or volunteered to help out with this fun event! We are still accepting candy donations as well.

Your student will be bringing their October calendar home as well this week.
More support for 2nd grade! As many of you know, we have 35 students in our 2nd grade class with Mrs. Herbert. Beginning Monday, Oct. 2, we will be adding a 3.5 hr/day licensed teacher to help teach math and reading. Thank you to everyone for your support and patience as we problem solve!
