PLEASE SAVE THE DATE! Connected Lane County is organizing a countywide Career Exploration event, which is scheduled to take place October 12th 2017 at Lane County Fairgrounds. This event is open to 8th and 9th graders, and takes place from 9am-11:30am.

This is an opportunity for students to learn more about employment with local companies in industries such as technology, manufacturing, financial, and healthcare. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about post-secondary pathways to their chosen career, participate in a mock interview, and hear from local skills panel!

Please note, Thursday, October 12th 2017 is a no school day for the Fern Ridge School District, however, a school bus will be transporting students to and from the event. A Parent/Guardian will be responsible for dropping off and picking up their child from EHS before and after the event. Students will need to be dropped off at the front of EHS at 8:20am and picked-up at the front of EHS at Noon.

If your child would like to participate in this amazing opportunity please turn in the completed permission form to your child’s school counselor by Friday, October 6th. You may pick up permission forms in the Counseling Center at EHS or from Mr. Chambers at FRMS. If you have any questions or would like more information please contact Ms. Brittany at EHS, 541-935-8200, or Mr. Chambers at FRMS, at 541-935-8230.

Hello Parents,

The staff at EHS recognizes that creating a safe learning environment is a critical part of helping each child achieve academic success. This year we will introduce the Safe Oregon Tip Line, a new system that students can use to report school safety threats. Safe Oregon will give your child another medium for communicating with our school administration when school safety incidents occur.

How does the Safe Oregon Tip Line work?

Students can access the Safe Oregon system through a link on the left side of our school webpage  or they may go directly to the safeoregon.com web site. Tips can be submitted through the web form on the Safe Oregon website, or by text, email, live call and mobile app.

Why is there a need for a tip line system?

The number one reason why children do not report is the fear of retaliation from their peers. The Safe Oregon Tip Line can be accessed from the privacy of a phone, home computer or other Internet equipped device, eliminating the possibility of being identified by another student and thus, increasing the likelihood that a school safety threat would go unreported.

I encourage you to learn more about the Tip Line by visiting the Safe Oregon web site at www.safeoregon.com

Today’s home and away soccer games have all been cancelled due to air quality issues.  The home volleyball game for tonight is still on.

Thank you to the FRSD maintenance staff for their work over the past several days installing a new scoreboard at EHS.  Over 90% of the nearly $15,000 for this scoreboard was raised through donations.  They included:  Ric Rainone of Cornerstone Management Group (The District’s construction representative), DLR Group (Architects for our recent bond projects), LCG Pence Construction, and Territorial Sports Program (to name some of the major donors).  Thanks to everyone that participated in this project.  If you are a local business or organization and would like to advertise on the board (the white section at the bottom), please contact EHS Athletic Director Brian Brands at 541-935-8200.

School Registration takes place at EHS in the cafeteria on the following days/times for the various grade levels.

9th Grade:  Thursday, August 24th 5-8 PM

10th Grade:  Wednesday, August 23rd 1-4PM

11th Grade:  Thursday, August 24th 1-4 PM

If you cannot make your designated time, you can come into EHS any day following beginning Friday, August 25th.

Fall Sports sign-ups will be here before you know it!  Sports Registration night at EHS is scheduled for Thursday, August 3rd from 5:30-7:30 PM.  Below is some information.

  1. Fall Sports include:  Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Football and Volleyball.
  2. Registration night is August 3rd—mark your calendar.
  3. The first day of Fall Sports practices are scheduled for Monday, August 14th.
  4. All paperwork must be turned in by noon on Friday August 11th in order to be eligible to practice on Monday.
  5. If you need an updated physical for 17-18 (needed every 2 years), it is best to get scheduled early.  There is one “low-cost” option at FRMS from 10AM-4PM on the 14th ($20). Unfortunately, this is the only day the Dr. was available, so if your physical has expired and you utilize this option, you will not be able to practice until the second day, August 15th.

Go Falcons.

Parents of FRMS 8th graders: If you are a parent of a student that will be a 9th grader at EHS in the Fall, consider enrolling them in our week long summer program. The “Strong Start” program helps students transition to High School and is a great way to ensure your student is ready, comfortable and prepared to start off their High School career “strong!”
Visit the link below for more information, contact the email on the flyer, or call the High School at 541-935-8200 to sign up.
