Week of COVID-19

Holy Cow!

As you already know, we are SHUT DOWN!  For most of my classes, this means the following:

  • Science Fiction and English 3: Since your texts are at school, we are in neutral and we’re idling.  Check back in at the end of March for more details.
  • Contemporary Lit: Although most of you have your books, you may also chill (for now)
  • AP Lit:  You are not so lucky.  Not because I’m going to assign you work to do (which I am, sort of), but because right now I don’t know what is going to happen with the College Board and the AP Lit test on May 6th.  Check the drop-down menu above for your class for an extra credit assignment you could do for the next two weeks.  I can’t make you do it, but you are AP students for goodness sake!

I want to make sure that you know that I truly hope you are all safe and healthy, as well as your family and friends.  We will survive.  We are Americans!

Aloha!

Mr. Hart

Week of March 9, 2020

Aloha!

This week in Mr. Hart’s classes:

  • Science Fiction: We will be reading chapters 12 – 18 from “The War of the Worlds”
  • English 3: We will finish up reading “The Great Gatsby” and at the end of the week there will be a writing assignment (Mr. Wiebe’s class will have already started working on theirs early in the week)
  • Contemporary Lit: We will continue reading “The Things They Carried”.  There may be another study guide at the end of the week
  • AP Lit: We will wrap up Poetry #2 and begin our next novel, “Wuthering Heights”

As always, check the above drop-down menus for more detailed lessons and downloadable content.

Have a great week!
