School Starts Next Week!!!

Welcome to the start of what is going to be the best school  year ever. It is my pleasure to serve as Veneta Elementary School principal and I am excited about the upcoming school year.  Please feel free to contact me anytime I can be of  help at either 541-935-8225 ext 201 or email me at ojohnson@fernridge.k12.or.us  Here is some information that you might find useful:

1. School starts Tuesday, September 6th. Tuesday is a regular day with classes starting at 7:55 ending at 2:25.
2. Wednesdays will again be Early Release Wednesdays this year. On Wednesdays, school starts at 7:55 but ends at 12:45.
3. The school supply list for all grade levels is posted in the website and hard copies are available at the school.
4. Class lists are posted on the inside doors. Please do not share class lists on social media sites.

1. If you have not already carefully read the previous post about our parking lot changes please do so.
2. To sign up for text messages from Veneta Elementary School please follow the text message list on the right hand side of this page.
3. Returning students who updated their registration in June or over the last month are set to go. We do have calendars, criminal history background forms, and some additional information available if you want to stop by and pick it up.
4. All potential volunteers need to complete a criminal history background check each year.
5. New students who have not yet registered need to do so by Wednesday August 31st at 3 PM in order to start school the first day, Tuesday the 6th.
6. Kindergarten students will attend on just their orientation day the first week of school. If you do not have an orientation day scheduled or you aren’t sure, just call the office and we will check.
7. Open House is 6:30 to 7:30 on September 29th.
8. Lunches-if you have applied for free/reduced lunch status and you have not heard back, please contact Renee at 541-935-8200 Ext. 275. You may need to send your child with lunch for the first week while your application is processed.
9. You may want to come in put money on your child’s lunch account before school starts. You can do that online at the following website: https://www.myschoolbucks.com
