Weekly Parent Support Meeting

Wednesday November 4th from 7:30 to 8 pm via Google meets (link below)

During this crazy time of constant changes and never quite knowing what the next day will hold.  Please join the Fern Ridge Family Resource Center for a weekly parent support meeting.  At this meeting we will discuss what is and is not working for the kiddos and families during this time of distance learning, share ideas and help build a stronger community together.  It is very important to know you are not alone, and there are lots of families in the exact same situation.  This will be a safe and positive environment to share your experiences and hopefully take away some ideas you can work into your family’s routines.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me,

Thank you,

Jim Domingue

Halloween Returns!

Once again Elmira Elementary will allow students to wear their Halloween costumes to school. The following guidelines must be followed:

  1. Students need to wear their costumes to school. Due to our very limited schedule, students will not have time to change at school.
  2. Face coverings are required. Halloween costume masks are not allowed. Students can have “limited” makeup like whiskers, freckles, eye makeup, etc.
  3. Costumes must not be too scary or inappropriate for the school environment. Please no gory or R-rated costumes.
  4. No weapon props are allowed (no swords, guns, etc).
  5. The school is not responsible for costumes that are torn or damaged while at school.
  6. Students must wear shoes that are appropriate for school. No heels, no slippers, and no flip-flops.
  7. Students who wear a costume that is inappropriate, will be asked to change.
  8. Costumes should not interfere with the ability of a student to go to the bathroom by themselves.

  • Please do your best to not stress about this added layer. We will do whatever it takes to help your child be successful!
  • Our 1st graders are still practicing just at school for the next few weeks and kindergarten students will begin their Chromebook training next.
  • Thank you for all that you are doing to support our school and more importantly, your child during this time. As always, feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher. Hello Students and Families,

We recognize that creating a safe learning environment is a critical part of helping each child achieve academic success. Fern Ridge School District continues to encourage the Safe Oregon Tip Line, a system that students can use to report school safety threats. Safe Oregon will give your child another medium for communicating with our school administration when school safety incidents occur.

How does the Safe Oregon Tip Line Work?

Students can access the Safe Oregon system through the line below or they may go directly to the safeoregon.com web site. Tips can be submitted through the web form on the Safe Oregon web site, or by text, email, live call, and mobile app.

Why is there a need for a tip line system?

The number one reason why children do not report is the fear of retaliation from their peers. The Safe Oregon Tip Line can be access from the privacy of a phone, home computer, or other Internet equipped device, eliminating the possibility of being identified by another student and thus, increasing the likelihood that a school safety threat would go unreported.

I encourage you to learn more about the Tip Line by visiting the Safe Oregon website at www.safeoregon.com

You can also email at tip@safeoregon.com or call/text  844-472-3367.

Thank you,

Michelle Marshall
