FRMS STEM/Science Challenge Class
Our STEM Enrichment Class is Revving Up Learning!
We’re excited to share one of the newest anchors of our 1st-period CHALLENGE program: plastic engine kits that bring hands-on engineering to life for our middle school students. These interactive models allow students to assemble and observe working engine systems, giving them a tangible way to explore real-world STEM concepts.
Not only have these kits significantly boosted student engagement, they’ve also strengthened understanding of core engineering principles through rigorous, inquiry-driven learning. Students collaborate, problem-solve, and apply their knowledge—building both skills and strong relationships as they work together.
Most importantly, these engine kits make learning deeply relevant. By connecting classroom concepts to real mechanical systems, students see how STEM shapes the world around them.
We’re proud of how our CHALLENGE class continues to spark curiosity, empower young engineers, and accelerate meaningful learning each day.
Shout out to Mr. Piccolo who completed a SELCO grant to get this started!
