All of our FRSD K–2 educators have had the privilege of receiving training in ECRI (Enhanced Core Reading Instruction). ECRI is a research-based reading approach designed to support early learners by strengthening foundational skills like phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. 

Research studies indicate that ECRI improves student outcomes when used in conjunction with the Wonders curriculum. 

It has been amazing to watch our K–2 students learn the routines and grow in confidence as readers. These structured, engaging lessons help ensure that all students—especially those who need extra support—are set up for success.

This work is a wonderful example of rigor in the Fern Ridge School District.
