At Elmira Elementary, we’ve officially kicked off our annual IditaRead event! 

We started the celebration with the entire school reading together in the gym for 15 minutes. Over the next week, students will read as much as they can to help move their team’s sled along the trail to Nome!

This fun tradition brings our school community together, building relationships as students cheer on their teams and showing the relevance of reading in a way that is exciting and engaging.

At the end of the event, every student will receive a brand-new book from our amazing PTA! There are also prizes for the team that reads the most, the students who log the most minutes, and the staff member who reads the most.
