Update on Investigation: CONCLUSION

Posted Date: 03/30/26 (06:00 PM)

Following an administrative leave, the EHS staff member who has been out will return to teaching duties effective Tuesday, March 31st.   The district investigated the matter, and then hired a State of Oregon-licensed investigator with school experience to do their own investigation and review the district’s process and findings. The investigations showed breaches of district policy, but no student images were involved, there was no student or child safety issue, and no crimes were committed.   Having said that, the standard of conduct we expect of our staff is much higher, and as such the district has taken corrective action in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement (the contract that guides the district’s responses and available actions), state law and Teacher Standards and Practices guidelines.  In addition, the district will be reviewing guidelines for staff regarding the use of personal computers and looking at how we can strengthen our policies.  We understand how concerning reports about staff members can be. We thank the school community for their patience, and we remain committed to fostering a supportive, safe, and professional environment.
