Wellness Week at Elmira High School

Posted Date: 05/04/26 (04:00 PM)

EHS Wellness Week was an initiative developed by the EHS Leadership class to promote awareness of both mental and physical wellness across campus.

The week featured a variety of activities designed to engage students and encourage positive self-reflection and healthy habits. On Wednesday, the school held an all-school assembly that included a wellness presentation by Mr. Daniel Gallo. Students also received goodie bags from EHS Leadership containing a QR code sticker linking to local mental health resources, a KIND bar, stickers, and a fidget toy. Thursday’s activity focused on self-affirmation. Students participated in an “I Can” and “I Am” exercise, completing note cards with personal strengths and positive statements about themselves. These cards were later used by the leadership class to create two bulletin board displays in the senior hallway. On Friday, the school wrapped up its April homeroom attendance competition with a celebratory event. Highlights included a visit from Caesar the “No Drama Llama” and the Kona Ice truck. This celebration was funded through a YARG grant and built on an idea originally started by Fern Valle Arvizu last year. Leadership students Jake and Rylee carried the project forward and brought the event to life.
