This week in Mr. Hart’s classes:

  • AP Lit will be continuing our unit on the short story.  There will be a new vocabulary list sent out this week
  • English 1 will continue our unit on the short story.  There will be a new vocabulary list sent out this week
  • Poetry will be looking at the Sonnet form of poem and writing one good one (!)

Week of September 10, 2018

It’s Patriot’s Day this week, in honor of those killed on 9/11/01

This week in Mr. Hart’s classes:

  • AP Lit will begin our short story unit.  There will be some reading o f short stories this week.
  • English 1 will begin the week with lessons (and an essay) on 9/11.  The week will end with us starting our short story unit.
  • Poetry: We will also look at 9/11 through poetry, and then we will start our first unit: Form poetry (Haiku/Limerick)

Week of September 4th, 2018: Welcome Back!

Another year is about to begin.  You can feel the excitement in the air!

I am Mr. Shannon Hart, and this is my EHS webpage.  Here you will find my weekly plans, reminders, and daily lesson plans for each of the classes I teach.  Return here often to stay up to date on what is going on in my English classes!

This week in my classes:

AP Lit: We will start on Wednesday with a “getting to know you” activity, and Thursday and Friday we will be discussing your summer reading book

English 1: We will start on Tuesday, and we will be going over the class rules, expectations, and syllabus this week.  We may start a short writing assignment on Friday

Poetry: We will start on Wednesday with introductions, going over the syllabus, and discussing what the heck is poetry.

ELA/SB: We will start on Wednesday with introductions, expectations, and a discussion of how we got here (or how can we get better with reading/writing!)
